How we teach Kitesurf
We teach with short lines , radio helmet and the latest safe techniques
We have a unique philosophy here at Extreme Control Adventures in our Kiteboarding School, we concentrate on teaching the basics in safety and kite control so that you have a solid foundation as you continue through the sport of kiteboarding. Our classes focus on teaching how to control the kite, which is the most important aspect of learning the sport. Then we start working with the board, we will teach you how to water re-launch a kite and the self- rescue. The sport is extreme because it could be potentially dangerous and the most important aspect is maintaining safety so you can continue to enjoy the sport.
How to get started...It takes around 6 to 9 hours to learn basic kite control, but it will depend on your ability on how fast you will start riding and it really depends on the wind conditions how many hours you will be able to take.
We usually do 3 hours the first day, beginning with flying a trainer kite on the beach (If you already know how to fly it we will skip this part) and then the assembling of all the equipment of an inflatable 4-line kite and then practicing kite control on the beach. The next hours you will keep practicing kite control and start body dragging (having the kite pull you through the water without a board) until you demonstrate good kite control. The time it takes to master kite control and be ready to start going on the board varies from person to person and depends on wind conditions. We follow the IKO Standards.
After 6 to 9 hours of instruction, you will start to feel ready to keep practicing with your own kite to improve your control and get ready for your next lesson. We use the Radio Helmets for live tips and corrections.

FIRST TIME KITEBOARDING LESSONS PER HOUR
Lessons per hour allow you to sign up to a kiteboarding lesson without force you in any package deal. First time or not, this lesson is made for everyone. If it is your first time we will teach you the basic of the wind window and will assist you for your first fly of a kite. This is the fastest, easiest and safest way to learn how to fly a kite. During this lesson, you will have fun learning the basics of how to assemble of the gear and the first try at flying an inflatable kite. The first few hours are on the beach where you will master kite control to be able to start going in the water. Now that you are hooked, you can keep going with more IKO Training to become an independent kiteboarder!!! If it’s not your first time we will work hourly in any needs you will have, from the kite control on land to the body drag or water start. If you then want more hours of the lesson you can join the Lesson Per Package and we will offer you a deal.
An individual may book an Open group or a Private group lesson in the chance we have other people for that time. However, we do not guarantee the group rate if booked by an individual. We only guarantee the “Open group” rate if a group of 3 or more people book the class or the “Private group” rate if 2 people book the class. If there is only one person that has booked the group tour, they will be charged at the ”Private Tour” rate. By booking in advance you will increase the possibility to have others booking the group lesson.

IKO PROGRAMS LESSONS PER PACKAGE
This program is designed for everyone who wants to learn kiteboarding and become an independent kiter. It doesn’t matter if it is the first time or you have a little experience, once you sign up you get a Packages price and commit to taking a minimum amount of 4 hours lessons, 2/3 hours per day usually.
Our lessons package allow you to get a more convenient price. If it is your first time we will teach you everything you need to know to practice by yourself and become an independent kiter. Learn about winds and locations hazard, how to properly assembly of the gear, how to enter and exit from the water, all the safety procedures such as water relaunch, self-rescue and of course all the skills required to start riding. If it isn’t your first time and you already had some previous experience this is the Package Lesson for you to keep learning kiteboarding, improving your skills and get an IKO CERTIFICATION CARD. We will make sure you remember everything you have been learning and we will start working on all your needs form kite control is you need or we will go directly in the water and make you feel comfortable

PER HOUR REFRESH LESSONS
Depending on your skills level we recommend a 1or 2 hours private or private-group lesson. Our IKO Instructor will work straight on what you need to get back in the water as fast as possible, we will work to make sure you feeling confident in and out of the water, pass the beach break, ride some waves or just recovering your board after a short ride. We will start from where you left off last time, no waste of time and from there we will improve your skills. After this class, you will be ready to rent the gear and enjoy many hours of riding in Tulum or El Cuyo with your friends.

SPECIALITIES LESSONS PER HOUR
This Program is designed for kiteboarders who are looking to make a fast progression and learn some of the advanced skills such as 360, Transitions, Jumps, Turns, Kite loops and more advanced kite control in riding waves and surfboard.

HYDROFOIL LESSON LESSONS PER HOUR
Learning how to use a hydrofoil as easy as 1, 2, 3. This program is divided into three steps, we will use three different masts of incremental lengths- 15” (38cm), 24” (61cm) and 30” (76cm) and we will use a surfboard to make the learning as easy as possible. Riding with a hydrofoil is really different from riding a twin tip or a surfboard. In kiteboarding, you keep your weight on your back foot to edge into the water to ride upwind. In foiling, we hold the pressure with the front leg. So get ready to crash a lot during the begin of this lesson …It is normal. In this lesson, we use the Radio Helmets for live tips and corrections and for safety!
